The Rainbow Jersey is awarded to UCI World Champions.
The jersey features a full plain white background and five horizontal coloured hoops. From top to bottom: blue, red, black, yellow and green.
The colours are the same as the Olympic flag, which represent the five continents of Europe, Africa, Asisa, Ocenenia and America.
Riders who win the jersey are allowed to wear the rainbow stripes for the preceding season. Previous UCI World Champions are then given the honour of displaying the rainbow bands on their sleeves and collar of their team kit for the rest of their career.
The jersey is produced by the UCI’s long standing partner Santini.
The 2023 UCI Cycling World Champs will be in 10 host regions across Scotland.
Glasgow will host the majority of the events, including BMX Freestyle and Trials events, the Road Race finishes, Indoor Cycling, and the Track and Para-Cycling Track Championships.
