Overview

The storied city of Stirling will make history once more as it hosts the Road Time Trial at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Champs.

Situated in the heart of Scotland and only a short train journey from Glasgow and Edinburgh, there’s no better base to attend other events. But there’s more than enough to see, do and cycle in Stirling too.

Stirling Castle

This grand 12th century castle is not only a breathtaking backdrop to the 2023 UCI Cycling World Champs events, but one of Scotland’s most significant sites. It features spectacular sculptures and gorgeous gardens, not to mention views to match.

It’s a must-visit for anyone even a tiny bit interested in Scottish history.

National Wallace Monument

An outstanding landmark that commemorates the life of Sir William Wallace, the patriot and martyr who came to be saluted as Scotland’s National Hero.

Inside the Monument you’ll find yourself transported back to the 13th Century as you discover the story of the warrior who led the Scottish army to victory at The Battle of Stirling Bridge.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

If you think you know real wilderness, think again.

Loch Lomond is the spectacular centrepiece, the biggest - and most beautiful - loch in Scotland. Take a steamship, cruise, kayak or canoe or hire a fishing rod to enjoy a day on the water that you’ll never forget.

As amazing as the water is, there’s plenty to do on land too. Walk or cycle from the wide-open lush landscapes of the southern section to the sprawling glens and rocky peaks in the north to the wild beauty you’ll discover west of Stirling.
